How does a renewal lease work?

Section 1.24 discusses how a renewal lease works, and which terms stand once a renewal lease begins.

Renewal Leases

If the lease is a renewal lease, all terms will supersede the original lease terms. Renewals must have at lease one of the original lease's residents. Any security deposits will be converted into non-refundable move-in fees once the renewal lease is executed. Financial obligations on the original lease will be up to the residents. Renewal leases also do not come with any additional maintenance to prepare the property.

What does this mean for you?

When a renewal lease begins, all terms on that renewal lease will override any on the original lease. If the original lease included a security deposit, this will become a move-in fee and will no longer be refunded. Because you will be remaining in the property with the renewal, there will be no maintenance performed to prepare the property for the renewal lease.
